埃及首都开罗郊区的孟菲斯古城遗址曾是古埃及的都城，距今已有5000多年的历史。如今，孟菲斯古城仅存拉美西斯二世时代的神庙遗迹、第18王朝的斯芬克斯石像和第26王朝的王宫遗迹等。孟菲斯古城遗址于1979年被列入世界遗产名录。Memphis ws once the moste famous capital of the ancient world. Today only colossal statue of Ramses II and an alabaster Sphinx are left here.

碧海蓝天地中海。海水远近呈现出不同的颜色。远望海天一色，近观碧绿海水像镶嵌在湛蓝天空下一块巨大的碧玉。岸边的水则清见底，在阳光的照耀下呈现出妖艳的色彩，有些像中国的九寨沟。可惜照片还是没有完全还原那五彩斑斓的颜色。要想目睹，只有亲临啦！

阿布辛贝神庙是拉美西斯二世（ Ramses Ⅱ）的神庙，距今有3300年的历史了.
庙高30米，宽36米，纵深60米，门前4座巨型石质拉美西斯坐像，每尊高20米，像旁有其母、妻、子女的小雕像。30多年前，当阿斯旺高坝开始修建、神庙面临永沉湖底的厄运时，联合国教科文组织向世界发出拯救呼吁，51个国家作出了反应。庙宇经过测定方位和计算，被拆散后化整为零，原样向上移位60米，至现在的位置，以确保神庙不会被水淹没，然后以其旧貌重建。
3000多年前的神庙设计者精确地按照要求把神庙设计成为只有在拉美西斯二世的生日（2月22日）和奠基日（10月21日），旭日的霞光金辉才能从神庙大门射入，穿过60米深的庙廊，被撒在神庙尽头的拉美西斯二世石雕巨像上，尤为神奇的是，光线只会照射右面的三座神像，而最左面的普塔哈神黑暗之神永远不会被阳光笼罩。人们把这一奇观发生的时日称作太阳节。为了保留太阳节的奇观，人们尽管煞费苦心，竭尽一切力量，太阳节的时辰还是被错位而提前了一天。现代的科学居然还不足以保证这神奇的光线按照原来计划的时间照进内殿，可见这推算过程是多么的复杂。
在阿布辛贝神庙旁是拉美西斯二世为她的爱妻所建的庙。
Abu Simbel, the rock temple of Ramses II is among the grandest monuments of Egypt. It is located on the west bank of the Nile in southern Egypt, in a desert area south of Aswan. Not only are the two temples at Abu Simbel among the most magnificent monuments in the world but their removal and reconstruction was an historic event in itself. When the temples were threatened by submersion in Lake Nasser, due to the construction of the High Dam, the Egyptian Government secured the support of UNESCO and launched a world wide appeal. During the salvage operation which began in 1964 and continued until 1968, the two temples were dismantled and raised over 60 meters up the sandstone cliff where they had been built more than 3,000 years before. Here they were reassembled, in the exact same relationship to each other and the sun, and covered with an artificial mountain.
